BS was the brand name of the Beuzen & Sordet company in Paris. This company was founded in 1848 and commissioned the production of promotional items and toys. In the 1950s and 1960s, BS offered several plastic models of contemporary French cars in 1/25th, 1/32nd and 1/43rd scale. The models are rather simple, but especially in the larger scales, their proportions and engravings are very accurate. The plastic they are made of is hard and stable in shape, but quite brittle. The 1/32nd scale model of the Citroën 2 CV was also available as a promotional item at Citroën dealers at the time. The cars in 1/43rd scale are enlarged copies of 1/86th scale models by Jouef. Furthermore, models of a Vespa scooter and a 19th century car, as well as trucks and carriages, were also released. From the late 1960s onwards, several models from old BS moulds were made in Algeria.
