Dinkum Classics was an Australian manufacturer of 1/43rd and 1/24th scale handbuilt models made of white metal and resin. The company was founded by Michael Stack, an English born former race driver, in Sydney in 1980, and focused on sports cars and sporty saloons from Australia and other countries, which were released as road cars as well as in racing versions from Australian touring car races. In the 1990s, Dinkum Classics also cooperated with Paradise Garage: 1/43rd scale diecast models of contemporary Australian cars from the Paradise Garage range were made in special liveries as racing cars or emergency vehicles. The company ceased operating in 2003, among other reasons due to the increased competition from Australian companies that had outsourced manufacturing to China, but the main reason was a fire that had destroyed the moulds Dinkum Classics used to produce their models.
