The Franklin Mint was an American company founded in 1964 and selling all kinds of collectibles through direct marketing. From the 1980s, they also released diecast model cars for collectors. The widest range was available in 1/24th scale, but there were also several models in bigger scales and 1/43rd scale models. The latter were mostly sold in particular sets, e.g. "American Fifties". The models were made in China and are very well detailed, even the 1/43rd cars feature many opening parts. Although Franklin Mint always concentrated on direct marketing, several models were also available at model car shops. Production ceased in 2012.
