Illustra Models is a British manufacturer of 1/43rd scale handbuilt white metal models established in St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, in 1987. The founder of the company, Steve Overy, had previously worked for SMTS. In the beginning, Illustra Models made model cars for the Minimarque range of classic American cars released by Richard Biggs and carried out some other contract work, but soon they also produced models in their own name, starting with a Lamborghini Miura and an Aston Martin DB5. Other European sports cars, as well as a model of Steve Overy's own 1936 Ford V8 delivery van, followed in the 1990s, then the Midlantic Models range of 1/43rd scale sports racing cars made of resin was introduced, and after Richard Biggs's death in 2002, the Minimarque range was continued by Illustra Models.
