In 1992, a range of twelve 1/43rd scale models of classic American NASCAR racing cars from the 1950s to the 1980s was introduced under the name of Legends of Racing. The manufacturer was based in Huntersville, North Carolina, but the models were made in China. Each model was limited to 18,000 items. The models are made of plastic and are rather simple, with blackened windows and without any interior detail. However, proportions and decorations are realistic. The company went out of business already after a short time, and the range was never extended.
