The Micro Models range of diecast models in about 1/43rd scale was introduced in Australia in 1952. The original Micro Models were only built until 1961, but in the course of time several companies have made re-editions from the original dies or copies: In New Zealand there were three ranges released by different companies, the first by the Lincoln company from 1956 to 1960, the second by Matai/Torro (owned by the Meates Family) in the 1970s and third again by the Meates family from 1994 to 2000. These models have been made from the original dies. In Australia, plastic copies were made in the early 1980s, and in the same decade Weico manufactured some reproductions made of metal.
