John Hodges from Chiswick in London manufactured a range of handbuilt white metal models in the style of old Dinky Toys from the 1930s to 1950s under the name of Odgi Toys of Yesterday. He introduced his first model in 1980: a 1937 Triumph Dolomite, which had been announced by Dinky Toys shortly before World War II, but never made it into production. Following the success of this model, John decided to produce more models that Dinky Toys might have made but never did. Austin Hampshire, Daimler Conquest Roadster, Ford Prefect, Ford Consul Mk II, Jaguar XK150, Jowett Javelin, Jowett Bradford van, and Bugatti 57-S were among the cars he reproduced in the following two decades. A further series of models was made between 2009 and 2012. John Hodges manufactured all models at his home in limited surroundings.
