The Danhausen company in Aachen, Germany, originally a dealer for motorbikes, bicycles and toys and worldwide known as the manufacturer of the Minichamps diecast models since the 1990s, started distributing its own ranges of white metal handbuilt model cars under various names in 1974. Besides Minichamps, Metal 43, SD Models and later Century, there was a series called Plumbies. Plumbies models were made in England by Western Models. The range mainly consisted of German luxury and sports cars, and also some everyday cars, from the 1930s to the 1950s in 1/43rd scale. The models were usually sold in kit form.
