The London company Jordan & Lewden Ltd. manufactured diecast models under the River Series name for a short time in the 1950s. The range comprised six car models in about 1/40th scale reproducing original cars from 1953 and 1954: Austin A40 Somerset, Ford Prefect 100E, Standard Vanguard saloon and estate, Daimler Conquest, and Buick Coupé. These models were available with or without friction motor. Several generic lorries, as well as military vehicles and steam locomotives, completed the range. In the late 1950s, some of the models were also produced by the Lincoln company in New Zealand, and in the early 1960s, Gamda in Israel (the company that later made the Sabra models) took over a part of the moulds.
