Kaden, a company based in Nový Hrádek, Czech Republic, is specialized in producing diecast metal and plastic parts. It is, along with Kovap, one of the successors of the company KDN (Kovodruzstvo Nachod; producer of the "Miniauto" range) and manufactured models of contemporary Skoda cars from the early 1990s to 2005. Like the Miniauto models, the first 1/43rd scale model marketed under the Kaden name, a Skoda Favorit, was made of plastic. Later models in 1/43rd scale, beginning with the 1994 Felicia and the 1996 Octavia, had diecast metal bodies, and the quality gradually improved. Detailed 1/87th scale Skoda models were added to the range, too. In addition to these models, Kaden also produced big scale plastic cars from the old KDN range and various tinplate models, including some 1/24th scale military vehicles originally made by Gonio. In 2009 the company introduced new detailed 1/43rd scale models of Tatra trucks.
