Replicars was the leading Dutch distributor of collectible model cars, importing models from manufacturers such as Ixo, Eligor, Troféu, Spark/Bizarre and others. From the 1980s, Replicars regularly released limited edition models in special liveries based on models by these manufacturers. In addition to these models, Replicars also offerend handbuilt models under its own name. In the 1980s, a Triumph Dolomite was made from white metal in the style of the old Dinky Toys models. An oddity from these early days is a diecast model sold as a 1979 Mercury Marquis, which is in fact a repainted version of the GAZ 14 Chaika limousine in 1/43rd scale made in Russia by GAZ. A range of 1/43rd scale resin models including several Maseratis followed soon afterwards, and in 2004, Replicars introduced a range of Dutch cars (classic Daf cars as well as Donkervoort and Spyker sports cars) made in China by Spark. In 2007 Replicars started a new range of 1/43rd scale resin models under the name of Neo. The company was taken over by the German mail order business Model Car World in 2012.
